Our old friend has passed away, gone on with the journey and left us here wondering.  We hope her passing was as peaceful and pain free as could be.  If you view this page with Internet Explorer (with your speakers on) you'll hear one of Karen's favorite tunes.  Here we remember our friend.

 Karen Sue Cochran-Reynolds "Butterfly"

March 6, 1950 - August 9, 2004

Like many of us, Karen had her down periods but for the most part it is the vivacious and giving person that we will remember.  Karen was a mother, San Diego Chargers cheerleader, Lieutenant in our organization, Floorshow Janet in our performing group (Superheroes), a great one to pitch in and get things done, a lover to some and friend to us all.  Karen LOVED to get up early and watch Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.  She would laugh and laugh.  She is missed.

I met her at Rocky Horror the same night I met my best male friend Gary Illig (1977).  They'd come together.  We shared so many adventures.  An overnight stay in the Sunset Cliffs smuggler's cave while Dark Side of the Moon played, candles danced and the waves crashed across the entrance.  Trips to see Rocky Horror at the Tiffany's theatre on the Sunset strip (it aint there anymore) during the gas crisis (1979-80).  Trips to Conventions, long hikes in Borrego in the 90's, Ren-Faires, gun shows and all manner of foray in costuming and crafts.  We were room mates, friends and at one point lovers.  I've missed her for a while.  Rest in Peace Butterfly.  Eric R.
