Point Mouse at Picture for description.

Gree 'n Steve waterproofed in tunnel 4.

Hell of a thing to see in a dark tunnel.

The final approach to the Goat Canyon trestle bridge.

The sun's shining over there and the misty stuff is rain.

The bridge is covered with catwalks and a sprinkler system.

This bridge is said to be 300 feet tall in the center.

These two tank cars supplied the water for the bridge sprinklers.

A pipe ran between these two tank cars and then into the bridge's sprinkler system.

The largest screw top (and heaviest too) I've ever seen.

Note knife for scale.  We figured that this was a pressure vessel of some sort.

We decided that this was a pump for the fire sprinklers.

We think this thing operated on steam.  Gary said the car was called a "service car" and is from the turn of the century (last one).

Before they built the bridge, they tried to tunnel but had a little accident.

A landslide in around the 20's carried this concrete tunnel entrance, forms and all the distance you see and the rest of the tunnel collapsed.  We decided to keep clear.

When they come off the tracks here it's cheaper to just push them over the side.

Over the side!

On the way back we saw this rainbow.

Can you see it?

Thanks for traveling with us.
